Welcome to the website of COST Action TD1208 – a consortium of European experts in the field of electrical discharge plasmas in contact with liquids .
Plasma-liquid systems can produce strongly non-equilibrium environments and initiate many chemical and physical processes in liquids. Depending on the type of discharge, its energy, and the chemical composition of the surrounding environment various types of plasma-chemical reactions can be initiated and a number of primary and secondary species can be formed. Plasma-liquid interactions thus represent a great opportunity for developing novel chemistries and related technologies.
The aim of this Action is to bring together a high level of experimental, simulation and theoretical expertise available around Europe in order to improve the knowledge of basic processes responsible for initiating and sustaining discharges in/on liquids and as well as to facilitate coordination and interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and know-how between researchers from different scientific fields and countries in the field of electrical discharge plasmas in contact with liquids.
